Branding, Illustration, Audio Reactive
As a passion project, I reimagined the artwork for Soichi Terada’s iconic 1989 Japanese album Sounds From The Far East. The redesign offers a fresh and immersive visual experience, with audio-reactive graphics that synchronise perfectly with the album’s music.
Inspired by the album's soundscape and Japanese popular culture, the design incorporates bold collages, bit-mapping effects, and striking typography that evoke the vibrant energy of Tokyo’s streets and signage. My own photography from Japan served as a research reference, adding a personal layer of authenticity and connection to the culture that deeply inspires me. The final artwork blends straight-line elements reminiscent of the Japanese Rising Sun Flag with dynamic visuals that dance and pulse to the rhythm of the music, creating a multisensory feast for the eyes and ears. This project reflects my deep appreciation for Japanese design and its ability to tell a powerful story through visuals.
