Jay Halim is a Graphic Designer based between London and Newcastle upon Tyne, specialising in visual communication across various mediums. His work spans digital design, motion graphics, audio-reactive visuals, and projection mapping.
Jay holds a First-Class degree in Visual Communications from Newcastle College University Centre and a First-Class degree in Graphic Design from Ravensbourne University London.
Jay's passion for electronic dance music heavily influences his creative work. Drawing inspiration from festivals worldwide, he has a particular affinity for audio-reactive graphics, which he often explores in his personal projects.
In addition to music, themes of politics, race, and heritage are central to Jay's work. He has recently secured funding from Arts Council England to further develop his practice in projection mapping. Notably, he has projected visuals onto disused shipyards in the North East, reflecting on the decline of industrial industries. His professional work includes high-profile projects such as creating projections for Rockstar Energy's 'Press Play' event in Manchester and displaying designs on digital screens and billboards in New York, Australia, and Los Angeles for client GWI.
